Br Daryl meets young friars in Timor-Leste

On his first visit to Timor-Leste, Brother Daryl Moresco (Chair, Provincial Formation Commission), made a fraternal visit to the community of St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, Comoro, to see more closely the progress and reality of the formation process. In this opportunity, he met with the young brothers in formation and held a fraternal dialogue about the formation experience, especially the obstacles and challenges that arise in the way of preparation for religious life and the Carmelite mission.

Following the spirituality of the Carmelite Order, this meeting emphasised the importance of living in the presence of God through prayer, meditation on the word of God, fraternity and service. Brother Daryl invited the brothers to see challenges not as impediments, but as opportunities to develop human, spiritual and community maturity.

In this dialogue, he also highlighted the value of silence, contemplation, fidelity to prayer and availability to do the will of God, following the example of the Virgin Mary, inspirer of the Carmelite Order. He also encouraged the brothers to continue living with perseverance, hope and commitment to respond wholeheartedly to the vocation they have received.

This meeting was held in an atmosphere of fraternity and openness, to strengthen the Carmelite identity and motivate the young brothers to continue walking on the path of holiness, service and contemplation, "Living in the service of Jesus Christ".
