Happy Mothers' Day!

In the hiddenness of Nazareth, and in the tradition of the great women and mothers of Scripture, Mary lived a love that did not seek to be seen—a love formed in listening, in trust, in a heart wholly given to God.

Like Sarah, who trusted beyond all hope…

like Hannah, who poured out her prayer in silence…

like Ruth, whose faithful love did not turn away…

like Elizabeth, who recognised the work of God with joy…

Mary received the promise and gave herself completely to it.

In her quiet “Yes,” she welcomed the Word, and carried Him—not only in her body, but in every moment of her life.

This is the love we recognise today.

A love poured out in the ordinary—in the long days and unseen sacrifices, in the quiet strength that holds a family together, in the tenderness that comforts, guides, and gives life.

This is the love that shapes every true mother: present, faithful, enduring—a reflection of something far greater, a love that gently leads us toward Christ.

Today, with grateful hearts, we give thanks for all mothers—for the love we have received, for the lives they have carried, for the faith they have quietly planted within us.

And we turn to Mary, Our Mother, entrusting every mother to her care. May she intercede for them, strengthen them in moments of weariness, and fill their hearts with peace.

Happy Mother's Day to all our mothers.

May they be richly blessed for the blessing they have been and still are for us.

We pray for all who are missing their mothers at this time.

May every mother know that her love is seen, her sacrifice is precious, and her “Yes,” lived each day, has a beauty that reaches far beyond what she can see.
