On Monday 1 December 2025 the Carmelite community at Hera received 5 new pre-novices. Over the last 12 months João Ximenes Soares, Emidio Trindade Lemos dos Santos, Francisco Sales Barreto Moniz, Zelindo do Ceo Martins and Eliaquim Soares dos Santos have been meeting each month with members of the Carmelite Formation Team to explore their vocation. Towards the end of this year, they applied to join our live-in pre-novitiate program at Hera.
During Evening Prayer with the community, they made their formal request to Fr Bruce Clark (Prior Provincial) who gave permission for each to join the program. This year will be a time of more intensive exploration of the Carmelite charism of prayer, community and service.
