Carmelite spirituality draws us towards silence and prayer while also leading us more deeply into our relationships, our daily lives and the needs of the world.
In this tradition, contemplation is not an escape from ordinary life. It is a way of becoming more present—to God, to ourselves and to others.
Spiritual direction at the Carmelite Centre honours each person’s unique experience. Director and directee meet as fellow pilgrims, listening together for the “golden threads” of grace woven through the person’s life.
People from different backgrounds and stages of faith are welcome. You do not need previous experience of spiritual direction or an extensive knowledge of Carmelite spirituality.
